Kindness, Calmness, Confidence & Determined~

"In life, you will encounter many, many difficulties, many, many setbacks, if..."

"If you don't know how to face setbacks, use calmness and confidence to overcome it!"

"If you can't beat it, then keep the bottom line of kindness."

"Of course, if..."

"If you can't be calm and lose your confidence because of reality, then learn to be determined!"

"Life will definitely be tough, and only determined people can have the last laugh!"

"if……"

"If we are born cowardly & are powerless."

"if……"

"If we were tortured by the cruelty of reality, lowered our heads and wouldn't even be able to hold on to kindness."

"Then, no matter where you are, no matter where you are, don't try the boundary of law! For eventually it will completely ruin your lives."

"Then……"

"When kindness is not there, you can't calm down, your self-confidence is flattened, and you start to become cowardly, you must still love your country, never betray her, don't despise her."

"Even if you are unable to love, then do your job well, which is the greatest support for her."

"This is the quality!"

"It's not that you can play the violin, or you can use English fluently, and it's not that you have seen many extravagant."

"Live kindly, face the world calmly, maintain the ability to think independently and confidently, and face every difficulty firmly."

"Let's take a look at the beauty of this world and enjoy the sweetness of life."

November Option Return Summary

Monthly option return summary will always end at the monthly option expiry date. For example for the month of December, it will fall on 18th.

Closed book for November 2021 with realised profit of $1125.87 (From options) which equivalent to 5.15% returns.

Actual value of overall portfolio is at negative $208.32 from a starting capital of $21847.43.

Trade ideas:

1) NASDAQ: TRIT

Been waiting for the ER since ages back. Either it is a fraud or it will aim for the stars. Only time will tell.

Meanwhile I am happily selling puts and calls to reduce my cost.

2) NYSE: DAC & NASDAQ: SBLK

The cost of international shipping will continue to either stay at the current level or go back higher. Meanwhile, I will just wheel it while we are in deep ship.

3) NASDAQ: AGC

Gonna sell put whenever it dips too much. Grab is like the Uber of South East Asia.

4) NASDAQ: AGFY

Selling put whenever it dips too much.

5) NASDAQ: PHUN

With the release of PhunCoin, the hype of the crypto world can send it skyhigh. Just wheeling it while I wait for it to happen.

Happy Day, Everyday~

The transformation of how we view Covid-19 as a pandemic to treating it as an epidemic is such a phenomenon. From the fear of a SARs alike virus spreads globally killing millions to treating it like flu with mild symptoms. The huge rise in shipping cost due to delays at ports cause by shortage of workers, container or even lockdowns, the rise in commodity cost, the epic rise in price of crypto currency and many more.

It is a fast changing world and how fast we adapt to the "new" views of the past, present and future is very crucial. Facebook changing its name to Meta Platforms Inc. Is this the beginning of a real life cyberpunk? A new dimension, a new way to live in another 20 to 30 years.

Referring back to the bible, John1:1 :

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Sounds like coding is it not? Thoughts of the day: So what are the chance that we are in a simulated reality?

So here I am, still struck in Thailand. Oi Singapore, open up to Thailand please, I want to go home~

Wifey missed Singapore so much that she always join the Singapore tourism board's event.
Cheers to Singapore tourism board & fellow Investing Note users~

My diamond trading friend shown me the other day how to YOLO~
Bitcoin spiked, and he told our group of friends: "It's time to YOLO~"

Say "NO" to gambling!

Crazy shit~

He told us he used the remaining sum of money to rent a yacht for suicide in the middle of nowhere. Don't worry, he is still alive. Crazy rich Asian...

Flew to Surat Thani the other day for year end vacation.
Googled my way to the airport.

Airport is too empty, so I spent a night in the nearby hotel. Wah lao, went to counter and she want to charge me 700 baht per night. Immediately booked online and paid less than 500 baht for it.

That is how empty Don Mueang International Airport is these days.

Support Breadtalk~

Now take flight also need to scan QR code.

Finally flying again.

Went to the same Dim Sum spot I went previously. See post here.

Surat's Pha Thai. Different from Bangkok's Pha Thai, taste more Malay style and more coconut milk was added

Indian food is always good. (Vegetarian)

Vegetarian cai png

Very empty though. These days the business environment, even for F&B is quite worrisome.

I like the way they decorate it with art works.

The power of bamboo ladder. People doing decent work to support themselves and their family should always be respected. Just feel that it is quite dangerous.

Opening My Own Personal Insurance Company

Inspired by my friend, Noob Selling Options , I started my own journey to sell options.

Selling options is like selling insurance and is very addictive, especially when you see the premium coming in almost instantly after the order goes through. It is like opening your own personal insurance company.

Let's say company A is currently trading at $10 at 1st Dec and options trading is available. In the view that $10 is a fair value, the share price may either go up or down. Without any shares at hand, we may for example sell one put option at strike price of $9 with premium of $1 per share that expires on a specific date in the future, for example 11th Dec. (Note that premium varies from time to time)

What this mean in layman term is I am selling people a promise that if the share ever drop below $9 from the time I received the premium and before the expiry date, I will buy the share from them at $9 per share. For example if the share dropped to $8.5 tomorrow, the person that bought the put option from me can exercise his rights to the option and assign me his shares. (Every 1 option is equivalent to 100 shares)

Example of Company A's Price Action from 1st Dec to 31st Dec

So what's the catch for me? In the event that it is not assigned, I get to earn $100 premium from it (100 share x $1 premium per share. In the event that the share dipped below $9 and I am assigned shares for it, I can either sell any price between $8.1 to $9 and still get a slight profit from it or I can turn and sell call option for it. Example, I can sell at call back at $10 with a premium of $1 per share.

A call option is me selling people a promise that if the share ever goes above $10 from the time I received the premium and before the expiry date, I will sell my shares to them at $10 per share.

Is there any risk to selling options? Of course there is, people will tell you there is limited gain and unlimited losses. However, risk can be managed.

Do not sell naked options. Do not sell put option when you do not have the money to pay for it. Do not sell call option when you do have have the shares for it.

Capital: Around 22k USD

Collected premium: 1177.47 USD (5.39% return from data till date)

Realised profit (From options): 258.78 USD (1.18% return for 2021 from data till date)

Random Thoughts

Why are people still talking about the competition with foreign talent or foreign workers? Did Singapore not rise from embracing globalism?

Instead of the race to the bottom with the foreign workers, we should race to the top with the foreign talent. Work within your capability and improve from there.

What are your goals? What makes you happy? What are your plans? Where do you see yourself in Jan 2022? Where do you see yourself in Jan 2026? Where do you see yourself in another ten, twenty years?

If you don't wish to talk about all the above then how are you going to pace out your life? Through hope? Hope the government or the society help you out?

To have a goal is to know what you are suffering for. I am below average. If I can make it, so can you. Be responsible for your own action.

“You don't get to choose not to pay a price, you only get to choose which price you pay” ― Jordan B. Peterson

Do you control or does your environment controls you?

The real question should be whether the environment's influence on individual outweighs individual's will?

Are we expecting an ideal environment at all times? How is that possible?

I would have people complaining to me about their lousy work environment or their bad relationships with their colleagues. My answer will always be, why not assume the problem is yourself and see how you can adapt? Maybe you really hate the micromanaging style of your superiors or your colleagues always like to pin point your mistakes and love to have a say at how you work. Adapt doesn't mean you are in the wrong or choosing to be powerless, but to control how you responds to them.

Revisit your goals in life, revisit where you want yourself to be in another 5, 10 or even 20 years. Have a change in mindset.

Ultimately, if things are that bad that it affects your health, change. Nothing is more important than our health. If it's a toxic relationship, cut it off. If you can't bring yourself to cut the person off, find ways to minimize your exposure to them. I mean work is work, we can stay professional when it comes to project work and keep it at that level.

Some beautiful paths can’t be discovered without getting lost.

Such is life. Curious during our childhood, eager to become an adult during our youth, lost or following a predetermined path set by our parents during our twenties. However, direction is more important than speed. Many are going nowhere fast.

Don't worry about making mistakes, don't worry about not having huge gains like others. Those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it. They might not have shared their huge losses with you.

Personal Update

Was asked to relocated to near Pattaya area, hence I am inactive for the past few months as I was busy with the new project and making myself comfortable with the newly rented apartment. Will be slowly updating my trips since November 2020 till date.

A crazy 2020 and a fabulous start for 2021. Within the first 2 weeks of 2021, the overall profit & loss for my portfolio made a 180 degree turn from loss to profit.

Overall P&L till date

Reduced holdings to ten as I would like to be more focus and not diversify too much.

Danaos Corporation (43.9%)
I am heavily vested in Danaos Corporation as we might finally be entering a supercycle for containerships.

1) ZIM IPO, DAC holds around 10.2% of ZIM equity before IPO
2) Increase in containership chartered rate
3) Increase in asset valuation due to increase in containership charter rate
4) Improve in debt reduction due to the above and it might finally start paying dividend
5) Price / NAV below 1
6) PE below 10

Watch out for earnings report soon.

China Everbright (19.41%)
Reinvested in China Everbright as I am building up a less volatile portfolio to prepare for my ten years retirement plan. If you believe in the China story, you should see where I am coming from.

1) Water is essential, all these projects are like small streams of water eventually forming a never-ending flow of cash. Then again, remember we should never forget about Perennial Real Estate Holdings, delist before its project start earning money.
2) Price / NAV below 1
3) PE below 10

Sri Trang-Agro Industry (10.38%)
There are enough people talking about STA in Singapore, hence I will keep it short.

1) It is not a pure glove company, it is a rubber company. Know the difference.
2) STGT to be listed on SGX the second half of 2021.
3) Ask yourself whether you believe covid will end anytime soon.

Ring Energy Inc (8.57%)
Bought back in 2020 at the same time as DAC to hedge for recovery when covid is over. DAC & REI are the only two companies that met my criteria.

1) Its hedge against oil price will help offset any near term oil price volatility
2) It restarted its drilling program, would provide more cash flow if oil price continue to rise
3) Price / NAV below 1
4) PE below 10

Something is moving its share price these days.

Medtec International (7.44%)
Its result will speak for itself. Please ask yourself whether you believe covid will end anytime soon.

Seroja Inv
This is a cigar butt play, three more months before I collect back my capital plus profit. Pray they just distribute and not do stunt.

The rest are insignificant.

Hua Hin Vacation Trip (November 2020) Part 1

Wifey Birthday Trip to Hua Hin

Some background story, wifey and I first met each other in Hua Hin. Therefore, we tend to visit Hua Hin every now and then. Hua Hin is a seaside resort on the Gulf of Thailand, in the southern Thai province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. The Thai royal family built summer palaces here and it got famous. Wifey and I preferred Hua Hin over Pattaya as it is less well known by tourist.

Map from Google to give you an idea where it is.
Usually people will stay near the beach, especially Hua Hin Beach.

So are you a dog or a cat?

Bought and wrapped up some present for wifey's birthday before the trip.

There are various ways you can get to Hua Hin, either by bus, van, train or by plane. As we stayed near Rangsit, we chose to take the van at the Van Station Rangsit opposite Future Park mall. Language is not a problem these days with google translate available at your finger tip. Simply walk up and say where you are going. For this instances, simply repeat Hua Hin and the vendors will direct you to the right person.

Seated and waiting for people to shout Hua Hin to notify us that the van is here and ready to board.

A map from Google to show where the van station is.

This is not the only van station available, usually if you use google map to check the possible route from your location, it would either show public bus or local train. You might want to check the van station near you in advance to know whether there is a van to the location that you wish to go to.

Interior of the mini van

Telephone number if you need it. You might want to ask your Thai friend for help with the conversation..

Took us around 4 hours to reach our destination @ LA HABANA. Seems like properties sales are cooling down as I was able to book a stay at La Habana. A condominium project near Takiab Beach which I previously found interest in. Check out the photos below, it is simply gorgeous.

Main entrance of La Habana

Reception area

Pool Side

Our studio room for the night

Everything was there

Toilet

Showers

Public space right outside the room

We asked for a ride to the beach
(Of course it is free)

Side door of La Habana

Look at the lights, it is so empty

Count our blessings that we get to stay here due to Covid

To be continued...
